Jacques Fontanille, President of the IASS, was present at the 6th International Congress of the Brazilian Association of Semiotic Studies (ABES), which took place in São Paulo.

On 1 July 2025, he delivered the talk “Modes de présence de la manipulation: propagande, incitation, inflexion, influence” and took part in a discussion alongside some of the most prominent Brazilian semioticians, including José Luiz Fiorin, Norma Discini, Waldir Beividas, and Jean Cristtus Portela.
