Call for Proposals for Special Issue Guest Editors of VS – Quaderni di studi semiotici
A call for proposals is now open for the role of Special Issue Guest Editor(s) for a forthcoming thematic issue of the semiotics journal VS – Quaderni di studi semiotici (No.1, 2027), scheduled for publication in June 2027.
The Editorial Board welcomes proposals for a special issue devoted to a topic of current relevance within semiotic, philosophical, and theoretical-linguistic debate.
Proposals, not exceeding 4,000 characters, should include:
- the topic of the proposed special issue;
- the reasons for its theoretical and scientific relevance, and its positioning within contemporary debates in semiotics and the theory of language;
- the possible approaches and research perspectives that the special issue aims to encourage;
- the scientific profile of the proposed Special Issue Guest Editor(s).
Particular consideration will be given to proposals that promote the internationalisation of the special issue, either through the involvement of scholars from abroad or through engagement with international debates and research networks. Proposals including a Special Issue Guest Editor affiliated with an institution outside Italy will therefore be especially welcome.
Articles for the special issue will subsequently be selected on the basis of a call for papers drafted by the Special Issue Guest Editor(s), in agreement with the journal’s Editorial Board, and will undergo the journal’s standard double-blind peer-review procedure.
VS accepts contributions in Italian, English, and French.
Proposals for special issues should be submitted no later than 15 July 2026 to the following addresses:
