Semióticas contemporáneas: investigaciones en cinco idiomas

El objetivo principal de este proyecto editorial es el diseño, producción y divulgación de las investigaciones actuales que están haciendo la red de investigadores de carrera temprana, como miembros de la Asociación Internacional de Estudios Semióticos AISS-AIS, en sus diversos campos de formación profesional y académica. Este proyecto busca proyectar las discusiones epistémicas y los intercambios culturales que es la red está propiciando en los cinco continentes del mundo. 

Como parte de este escenario mundial, los investigadores de carrera temprana (ECR IASS-AIS) proponen un diálogo fraterno, con el que se estudian el sentido y los significados de las prácticas diarias, para convocar a investigadores con sensibilidad y crítica de su actual condición de vida.

Por esta razón, un grupo de diez investigadores en calidad de editores proponen la creación de una serie de libros derivados de investigación contemporánea alrededor de los objetos de estudio, abordajes teóricos y estrategias metodológicas para la comprensión de cómo se construye el significado en diversos fenómenos sociales y culturales, tales como la comunicación, el arte, la publicidad, la ecología, las cosmovisiones ancestrales, entre otros.

Con este proyecto editorial, se busca fortalecer la trayectoria y el desarrollo académico de los estudios semióticos contemporáneos a través de la recolección de investigaciones que vienen desarrollándose en cinco idiomas diferentes: portugués, inglés, chino, italiano y español. Para este grupo de editores es prioridad que se divulgue el conocimiento en cada una de las lenguas en las que se vienen adelantando estas investigaciones semióticas como una forma de cuestionar la producción del conocimiento en las tradicionales lenguas hegemónicas.

Pluriversos en la Semiótica Latinoamericana

Los mundos que hacen mundo en los contextos latinoamericanos es una apuesta por identificar la vitalidad de los procesos de significación que se originan en modos y formas de vida, expresadas desde cosmovisiones particulares como las indígenas, mitologías e imaginarios urbanos que entretejen sentido a partir de la apropiación y uso de las tecnologías, así como los fenómenos migratorios que transforman la cultura, la vida y moldean al mismo tiempo el cuerpo.  La pluriversidad define la cualidad de este mundo en la que todos debemos tener cabida y lograr construir un mejor mundo posible, admitiendo su pluralidad y diversidad. Algunas experiencias estimulantes sirven de ejemplo para aludir a la cuestión en distintas latitudes.  Bután define una política que mide la Felicidad Nacional Bruta (FNB) de sus ciudadanos, privilegiando el bienestar de sus ciudadanos a diferencia del Producto Interno Bruto (PIB) que marca su interés en su extensión económica. Por otro lado, las comunidades indígenas usan el neologismo quechua Sumak Kawsay para hacer énfasis en el bienestar colectivo y el bien común.  En consecuencia, en Ecuador, el Ministerio del Buen Vivir apropia la cosmovisión indígena para definir el desarrollo de la vida de sus ciudadanos en relación con el medio ambiente.   

Por lo tanto, vale la pena preguntarse: ¿cómo se produce la semiosis en Latinoamérica?, ¿en qué modo las ideas y mecanismos del análisis semiótico que se han instituido por parte de los centros de pensamiento hegemónico han tenido una reproducción o innovación en las lógicas propias de las experiencias sociales y culturales de los pueblos a lo largo y ancho de Abya Yala^[1]? ¿en qué modo diferentes formas de situarse y sentipensar los contextos han transformado o renovado las corrientes intercontinentales de las maneras de comprender, descifrar y compartir los signos, las significaciones y la diversidad de los lenguajes en los territorios?

Estas posibilidades de puntos de diálogo buscan contribuir en cómo se atraviesa la experiencia semiótica, en aras de proponer como lo hizo Yuri Lotman (1998) una Semiótica de la Cultura en clave latinoamericana propia que ponga en el escenario de las grandes matrices, al pensamiento propio latinoamericano.

Temas relevantes del manuscrito

Dado que el enfoque académico de nuestra investigación se centra en todas las cuestiones mencionadas anteriormente, nuestro libro acoge manuscritos originales sobre los siguientes temas:

1. Los senderos de los mundos indígenas y las formas situadas de sentir vivir el mundo.

2. El sendero de mixturización del mundo afro en una transcontinentalidad en resistencia

3. La emergencia de sentidos y tránsitos de los cuerpos y las miradas en los movimientos Queer y LGBTIQ + que reposiciona la existencia y re -existencia.

4. Las transformaciones sociales y culturales que se originan desde los avances tecnológicos, científicos y como consecuencia, el surgimiento de una condición posthumana.

Microcurrículum vítae del autor

Cada participante deberá presentar un microcurrículum vitae con una extensión máxima de 800 caracteres en el que deberá constar la siguiente información:

– Reseña mínima de la trayectoria académica del autor del libro.

– Relación laboral y/o académica actual con centros educativos y/o de investigación.

– Último título educativo y la institución que lo otorgó.

– Dirección de correo electrónico institucional – personal.

Estilo de las propuestas de presentación de manuscritos

Para la elaboración de su propuesta de capítulo, le rogamos tenga en cuenta los siguientes aspectos estilísticos.

– Este libro sólo recibirá manuscritos en español.

– Título creativo que invite al público especializado y no especializado a recibir una ilustración básica de un trabajo enfocado al conocimiento o reflexión sobre aspectos centrales de su investigación actual.

– Cumplimiento de la norma APA 7.0. o la versión más reciente (primavera – verano de 2023).

– Resumen del capítulo de no más de 250 palabras.

– Indicar, en la medida de lo posible, si el texto a presentar a esta convocatoria ha servido de base para otras publicaciones que lo conviertan en referencia en la disciplina.

– La estructura del manuscrito debe ser título, resumen (lengua original e inglés), palabras clave, introducción, desarrollo del planteamiento teórico y diseño metodológico, resultados, conclusiones y referencias bibliográficas.

– Las cinco palabras clave deben consultarse en el Tesauro de la UNESCO: https://vocabularies.unesco.org/browser/thesaurus/    

– El manuscrito es inédito: no ha sido publicado ni aceptado para su publicación en otra revista.

– El manuscrito no debe presentarse simultáneamente a otra revista y, durante el tiempo que permanezca en evaluación por este proyecto editorial, no se someterá a la consideración de otra revista, ni posteriormente, en caso de ser aceptado.

– Los contenidos son producción intelectual directa de los autores y los datos y textos tomados de documentos publicados están debidamente referenciados en citas resaltadas como tales e indicadas en las referencias al final del documento.

– Como autor(es) usted(es) asume(n) la responsabilidad del contenido del manuscrito.

– No se informa de la publicación de una versión anterior como documento de trabajo (o literatura gris) o en un sitio web y que, si se acepta su publicación, se eliminará de los sitios web y sólo se dejará el título, el resumen, las palabras clave y el hipervínculo.

– La bibliografía utilizada para el manuscrito debe citarse según las normas y la séptima versión de las directrices éticas de la American Psychological Association APA.

– En el caso de autores que hablen una segunda lengua (distinta de la lengua de este libro), el texto deberá presentarse en su lengua original y el resumen en inglés.

Extensión de cada manuscrito como capítulo del libro y del libro en general.

Cada manuscrito debe tener un mínimo de 7000 palabras y un máximo de 8000, incluida la bibliografía. Cada página, entendida como folio, deberá tener márgenes en la proporción 4-3-3-3-3, interlineado de 1,5 y en fuente Times Roman 11 o, en su defecto, una fuente legible acorde con el idioma de este libro.

La extensión del libro será de 10 a 12 capítulos -aproximadamente de 150 a 160 páginas- más un estudio preliminar -prólogo, introducción y micro curriculum vitae de los autores-. Los libros se editarán en versión digital e impresa. Cada autor tendrá acceso a la versión digital y a un ejemplar impreso del libro.

Audiencia del libro

Dirigido a docentes, estudiantes de maestría, doctorado y pasantes de posdoctorado interesados en los cambios históricos que los Estudios Semióticos proponen en el abordaje teórico y metodológico de los Pluriversos en la Semiótica Latinoamericana.

Call for publication of the Spanish book
Pluriverses in Latin American Semiotics

The worlds that make up Latin American contexts are a bid to identify the vitality of the processes of signification that originate in ways and forms of life, expressed from particular cosmovisions such as the indigenous, mythologies and urban imaginaries that weave meaning from the appropriation and use of technologies, as well as the migratory phenomena that transform culture, life and mould the body at the same time.  Pluriversity defines the quality of this world in which we must all have a place and succeed in building a better possible world, admitting its plurality and diversity. Some stimulating experiences serve as examples to allude to the issue in different latitudes.  Bhutan defines a policy that measures the Gross National Happiness (GNH) of its citizens, privileging the well-being of its citizens as opposed to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) that marks its interest in its economic extension. On the other hand, indigenous communities use the Quechua neologism Sumak Kawsay to emphasise collective well-being and the common good. Consequently, in Ecuador, the Ministry of Good Living appropriates the indigenous cosmovision to define the development of its citizens’ lives in relation to the environment.   

It is therefore worth asking: how does semiosis occur in Latin America? In what way have the ideas and mechanisms of semiotic analysis that have been instituted by the centres of hegemonic thought had a reproduction or innovation in the logics of the social and cultural experiences of peoples throughout Abya Yala? How have different ways of situating and thinking about contexts transformed or renewed the intercontinental currents of ways of understanding, deciphering and sharing signs, meanings and the diversity of languages in the territories?

These possibilities of points of dialogue seek to contribute to how the semiotic experience is traversed, in order to propose, as Yuri Lotman (1998) did, a Semiotics of Culture in its own Latin American key that places Latin American thought on the stage.

Manuscript relevant topics

As the academic focuses of our research are placed on all the above-mentioned questions, our book welcome original manuscript relevant topics as follows:

·  The paths of indigenous worlds and situated ways of experiencing the world.

·  The path of the mixurisation of the Afro-world in a transcontinentality in resistance.

·  The emergence of meanings and transits of bodies and gazes in the Queer and LGBTIQ+ movements that reposition existence and re-existence.

·  The social and cultural transformations that originate from technological and scientific advances and, as a consequence, the emergence of a post-human condition.

Author’s micro curriculum vitae

Each participant must submit a micro-curriculum vitae with a maximum length of 800 characters in which the following information must be recorded:

– Minimum outline of the academic career of the author of the book.

– Current record of employment and/or academic links with educational and/or research centers.

– Last educational qualification and the institution that awarded the qualification.

– Institutional – personal e-mail address.

Style of manuscript submission proposals

For the development of your chapter proposal, we kindly ask you to consider the following stylistic aspects.

– This book will only receive manuscripts in Spanish.

– Creative title that invites specialist and non-specialist audiences to receive a basic illustration of a work focused on knowledge or reflection on central aspects of your current research.

– Compliance with APA 7.0. or the most recent version (spring – summer of 2023).

– Summary of the chapter no longer than 250 words.

– Indicate, as far as possible, if the text to be submitted to this call has served as a basis for other publications that make it a reference in the discipline.

– The structure of the manuscript should be title, abstract (original language and English), keywords, introduction, development of the theoretical approach and methodological design, results, conclusions and bibliographical references.

– The five key words should be consulted in the UNESCO Thesaurus: https://vocabularies.unesco.org/browser/thesaurus/   

– The manuscript is unpublished: it has not been published or accepted for publication in another journal.

– The manuscript must not be simultaneously submitted to another journal and, during the time it remains under evaluation by this editorial project, it will not be submitted for consideration in another journal, nor subsequently, if accepted.

– The contents are the direct intellectual production of the authors and the data and texts taken from published documents are duly referenced in citations highlighted as such and indicated in the references at the end of the document.

– As author(s) you take responsibility for the content of the manuscript.

– The publication of a previous version as a working paper (or grey literature) or on a website has not been reported and that, if accepted for publication, it will be removed from the websites and only the title, abstract, keywords and hyperlink will be left.

– Bibliography used for the manuscript must be cited in the standards and the seventh version of the ethical guidelines of the American Psychological Association APA.

– For authors who speak a second language (other than the language of this book), the text should be submitted in its original language and the abstract in English.

Length of each manuscript as a book chapter and of the book in general.

Each manuscript must have a minimum of 7000 words and a maximum of 8000 words including bibliography. Each page, understood as a page, must have margins in the proportion 4-3-3-3-3, 1.5 line spacing and in Times Roman 11 font or, failing that, a legible font according to the language of this book.

The length of the book will be 10 to 12 chapters -approximately 150 to 160 pages- plus a preliminary study -preface, introduction and micro curriculum vitae of the authors. The books will be produced in digital and printed versions. Each author will have access to the digital version and a printed copy of the book.

It is aimed at teachers, master’s students, doctoral students and postdoctoral trainees who are interested in the historical changes that Semiotic Studies propose in the theoretical and methodological approach to the Pluriverses in Latin American Semiotics.

Professor at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Cali. Researcher on indigenous and youth cosmogonies in Latin America.
