This book project is part of the “Early Career Researchers” (ECRs) program, conceived and implemented under the initiative of the International Association for Semiotic Studies (IASS-AIS) during Paul Cobley’s presidency. The general aim of this program is to promote the research work of scholars under the age of 40 who are not tenured faculty members—either postdoctoral researchers who defended their dissertation less than six years ago, or doctoral candidates. As part of the ECRs program, a publishing project was conceived, which has already led to the publication of five volumes.
