Call for Contributions: Crisis & Recovery: Ethics in Interdisciplinary Dialogue

We live in troubled times. The refugee crisis, the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and the crisis of liberal democracies deeply affect individuals, societies, and the environment.

Societas Ethica’s 62nd Annual Conference 2026, “Crisis & Recovery: Ethics in Interdisciplinary Dialogue” (August 20–23, 2026, University of Tartu, Estonia) warmly welcomes semioticians to join the discussion and explore how signs, meanings, and cultural communication shape ethical responses and recovery in such crises.

One of the keynote speakers is Susan Petrilli. The conference languages will be English, German, and French.
