Twelfth Annual International Gathering in Biosemiotics
University of Tartu, Estonia,

17-22 July, 2012.

Gatherings in Biosemiotics is the annual meeting of world scholars studying sign processes in living systems. Since 2006, it has also been an annual meeting of the International Society for Biosemiotic Studies (ISBS). In 2012, the Department of Semiotics of the University of Tartu and the Estonian Semiotics Association welcome researchers in any academic discipline with an interest in biosemiotics to join the Twelfth Gatherings in Biosemiotics in Tartu, Estonia, from 17 to 22 July.
The Gatherings in Biosemiotics will focus on
semiotic concepts and models of living systems,
semiotic research methods in biology,
biosemiotic case studies,
collaboration between biosemiotics and other fields of study.
To attend the meeting, please submit your abstract or send an e-mail with your abstract (maximum 250 words) to biosemiotics@semiootika.ee — the deadline for abstracts is March 5, 2012. Soon after that, the Scientific Advisory Committee of the ISBS will referee the abstracts and choose those that will be accepted.
