Research seminar After the Semiosphere. Lotman’s “Latest” Theory

The seminar is promoted by the Mexican Government (SRE-AMEXCID) together with the National School of Anthropology and History (ENAH) of Mexico City.
After the Semiosphere. Lotman’s “Latest” Theory intends to thematize and disseminate the last scientific production of the semiotician and culturologist Yuri Lotman (leading figure of the Tartu School of Semiotics—Estonia) within the theoretical horizon of cultural studies. The aims are: a) to present the results of a recent research (2012-2015) on the latest unpublished works by Lotman; b) to explain the final theoretical and methodological legacy of this distinguished scholar of cultural dynamics.

El seminario está patrocinado por el Gobierno de México (SRE-AMEXCID), junto con la Escuela Nacional de Antropología e Historia (ENAH) de la Ciudad de México.
Después de la semiosfera: El último Lotman aborda los estudios acerca de la última producción científica del culturólogo y lingüista ruso Iuri M. Lotman, en el marco teórico de los estudios culturales. Los objetivos son: a) Presentar los resultados de un reciente trabajo trienal de investigación (2012-2015), sobre las últimas obras inéditas de Iuri M. Lotman, figura de importancia internacional de la Escuela de Tartu (Universidad de Tartu-Estonia) centradas en la relación entre el lenguaje y las dimensiones socio-histórico-político-culturales, y b) Exponer las últimas propuestas teórico-metodológicas de este gran investigador de la producción cultural.

Il seminario è promosso dal Governo Messicano (SRE-AMEXCID) insieme alla Scuola Nazionale di Antropologia e Storia (ENAH) di Città del Messico.
Dopo la semiosfera. L’ultimo Lotman intende tematizzare e divulgare l’ultima produzione scientifica del culturologo e linguista russo Jurij M. Lotman – figura di spicco della Scuola semiotica di Tartu (Estonia) – in seno all’orizzonte teorico degli studi culturali. Gli obiettivi sono: a) presentare i risultati di una recente ricerca (2012-2015) sulle ultime opere inedite di Jurij M. Lotman; b) esporre le ultime proposte teoriche e metodologiche di questo insigne studioso delle dinamiche culturali.
